The name Scratch represents more than starting from the beginning.
It reflects the process of uncovering what makes a brand distinctive, developing ideas with intention, and creating work capable of leaving a mark.
The subtle golf influence within the Scratch identity also connects to the studio’s roots and experience within the golf industry, without limiting where the work can go next.
meet Maggie
Scratch Studio was founded by Maggie Lessel, a social media strategist, content creator, and community builder based in St. Louis.
Maggie’s experience spans social media management, local storytelling, event promotion, brand partnerships, content production, and community development.
She is also the founder of Fore the Girls STL, a women’s golf community created to make the sport more welcoming, approachable, and social. Building it gave Maggie firsthand experience developing a brand from the ground up: growing its audience, creating events, cultivating partnerships, and turning online engagement into a real-world community.
That experience shapes how she approaches every Scratch project.
She doesn’t begin by asking what a brand should post. She begins by understanding what makes the business worth paying attention to in the first place.
